Dear Friends and WMBC bridge players, March 25th 2020
GREAT NEWS…..We have a “Cabin Fever Cure” on the way!
The ACBL, Bridge Base Online and The Common Game have come together to create a
plaJorm where we will be able to play bridge together with our favorite partner, earn
master points and “virtually” visit socially with our friends online.
These three organizaMons are creaMng a special login for our Club on BBO “SUPPORT YOUR
CLUB” (WATER MILL BRIDGE CLUB) that will allow you to sign in with your partner and
support our club during this quaranMned pandemic. According to the ACBL this will be
available within the next few days. BBO suggests you become familiar with their program,
register and play, while this new event is being completed.
When on BBO, play in the “support your club game” Water Mill Bridge Club #253039.
There will be games to parMcipate in at 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. every day. Sign up
should be before game Mme, 18 boards will be played, results will be posted on the WMBC
website, TCG website and of course the ACBL website. There will be a game fee of $5.per
game where a percentage goes to the three organizaMons and our Club. If we don’t have
enough tables to play a Mitchell movement on our own, we will be joined with another
club. Our players will only be recognized as the WMBC players.
We hope you will conMnue to support our Water Mill Bridge Club and play with us online, it
will certainly help keep us mentally sharp and involved with each other unMl we reopen.
The ACBL has asked us to wait unMl May 11th to open our doors, but of course that could
change as cures, treatments and vaccines are developed.
As of now there will be a Silver Point game at the Club 5/16/20, 12:30 P.M., but please
check our Calendar in May to confirm our games schedule.
We will keep in touch. Check out the BBO website and join the game. We look forward to
seeing you soon.
Stay well.
Kathie & Laura
P.S. I just received this noMce from District 24, ACBL management is working with BBO and others to run “Support Your Club
Black Point Games”. Next week clubs expect to hold their own games where you will play against the club regulars. Please
check with your club and BBO for more informaMon. This will be a great way for us to stay connected with our fellow club players
and provide financial support.
