KUDOS TO MELIH – LOVES THE GAME – LOVES TO SHARE!
Who is Melih Ozdil? He is an outstanding bridge competitor, teacher, author, player and person. We at the Water Mill Bridge Club want to recognize his professionalism and love of the game which he shares with all of us. Melih Ozdil has played bridge at the WMBC for many years. He has always been a friendly competitor, helpful, and complimentary to our players.
For many years Melih has held seminars during the summer months while visiting in the Hamptons. This summer he again offered to share his knowledge and techniques of bidding and playing hands. He reviewed many difficult hands from our recent games, reaching the correct contact and playing out the contract for a winning result. We had over 40 players attend each lesson (which he taught pro bono).
We are a small club on the East End of Long Island but the turn-out and support for these sessions was tremendous. As an aside, Melih has written several instructional bridge books which he has donated to our club. He is a true asset to the game of bridge and the ACBL. We consider ourselves fortunate to have him at our club.
We at the WMBC wanted to share with the ACBL and your readership how fortunate we feel to have Melih as our mentor and friend. We congratulate him on his outstanding achievements in the world of bridge and are thrilled to call him our friend.
